Wellington has always had a knack for churning out top-notch guitar bands. Except, you know for the last five years. That's why, upon seeing this band play and subsequently release this absolute fucking ripper, I'm glad to report Welly is well and truly, back.
'Under The Mountain' has the solemn, foreboding swagger of the very best BRMC material, coupled with haunting vocal harmonies and exceptional dynamic nuance.
This newly minted revival of sorts may have something to do with the inception of Blue Barn, a studio manned by perhaps the most trusted ears in NZ's alternative music scene, one James Goldsmith.
Regardless, the song rules, and if their live show is anything to go by they have a bevvy of compelling material up their sleeves. Can't wait for this record!
